BODIES OF WATER recently welcomed a Swedish film crew into the backyard of their Los Angeles home. Joined by a handful of pet chickens and dogs for a performance of “If I Were A Bell,” from the band’s 2008 longplayer, A Certain Feeling. Now, Sveriges Television Sweden has been kind enough to See the clip of “If I Were A Bell” on its blog. Watch the video below and visit the PSL site HERE to see a great performance of “Doves Circled The Sky.”
Over the summer BODIES OF WATER played a show in Indianapolis sponsored by their friends at My Old Kentucky Blog. Dodge and crew from MOKB have started a new site with cool live sessions, and BODIES OF WATER recorded three songs for it. Check the session out at Laundromatinee.com.
This just in! BODIES OF WATER are sharing with us their wonderful rendition of the classic “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” just in time for the Holidays. The song is the closing track to the Hard to Find a Friend holiday comp entitled Peace On Earth Vol. II, which is benefiting the Children of Uganda fund.
Also in the holiday spirit are The Silver Ages. Here’s the bands back story straight from the reindeers mouth:
“The Silver Ages is a group perhaps unique in the annals of music history: a men’s singing ensemble comprised of members of various rock bands, including WINDSOR FOR THE DERBY, THE WAR ON DRUGS, The Capitol Years, National Eye, Buried Beds, Like Moving Insects, BC Camplight and others. These Philadelphia musicians came together to explore the intersecting worlds of drinking, revelry, and traditional close harmony choral arrangements from the early 20th century. With a repertoire that touches on love, death, booze, weather, virginity (its final moments, anyway) and being lost at sea, the Ages approach their craft with a seriousness that belies their laddish cheer. They aim to court you slow, with the sounds of a vanished era, even though they’re really just a bunch of rock guys.”
The band has offered us their performance of the song “Lo How A Rose Eer Blooming”.
Listen to it HERE.
BODIES OF WATER recently filmed an acoustic Take-Away Show version of “Doves Circled The Sky” in a San Franciso antique store, which you can find below.
Also, an MP3 of the song “Water Here” is now available for download HERE.
