Antony and the Johnsons Debut New Video for “Cut The World”
Posted: August 6th, 2012 by katieAntony and the Johnsons share their brand new video for “Cut the World.” Premiering today on Pitchfork, it’s the previously unreleased title-track to the forthcoming live album. Directed by Nabil and shot in London, it’s a breathtaking piece of work with a statement. The cinematic short stars Willem Dafoe, who many of you will recognize from the Spider-Man triology and Carice Van Houten from “Game of Thrones” and Valkyrie. Performance artist Marina Ambramovic also appears in the video. Note – the short may not be suitable for all viewers. Watch above.
Antony originally wrote “Cut The World” for the opera The Life and Death of Marina Abramovic. A screening of the video will take place on August 11 at the Southbank Centre in London for the Antony-curated Meltdown Festival.
