ARTIST ANNOUNCE // Electric Youth Releases “Innocence” Video Dir. By Ivan Grbovic, Signs To Secretly Canadian

Secretly Canadian is thrilled to welcome Electric Youth to the family. Based out of Toronto, the electronic pop duo includes Austin Garrick and Bronwyn Griffin. Their song “A Real Hero” (a collaboration with French producer College) became wildly popular after its appearance in the 2011 film “Drive,” directed by Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn. The song, which has surpassed 18 million plays on YouTube, is only a preview of what is to come.

In late 2013, Electric Youth teased a new album including the pulsing track “Innocence.” In the new video for the track directed by Ivan Grbovic we see the the music at its most grand and cinematic, but still very human. “Innocence” will be included on Electric Youth‘s debut album, due this fall. Watch the video above or here on the band’s YouTube / Vevo. More info coming soon.

For more info on the band follow them on Twitter, Facebook, and their Soundcloud.

WATCH // Woman’s Hour Share “Conversations” Video Via FADER, New ‘Conversations’ Album Out July 21st (15th US)

London four-piece Woman’s Hour have released a new music video for ‘Conversations’, the title-track from their debut album released 21st July (15th US) on Secretly Canadian. Premiering via FADER this morning, Watch the video above or here on their YouTube / Vevo.

Directed by Frank and Jane, the video follows the beautiful monochrome aesthetic shown by the band on previous videos and their album art. The new video is their take on ‘Group Primary Accumulation’ (1973), a performance piece by the celebrated American choreographer Trisha Brown. “We are four non-dancers engaged in a conversation with ourselves. Separately together. The video highlights this isolation. Four people silently moving in sync.” says lead singer Fiona Burgess, who came across the piece while touring in America earlier this year.

Pre-order Conversations via iTunes, Amazon, SC Distribution / deluxe bundle, and your local record store.

See the band this summer play festivals including Field Day this weekend, Bestival, Green Man and Latitude. In September they then play their biggest London headline show to date on September 23rd at Village Underground.

On the remix Tomas writes:

“I like the idea about selecting remixers that are connected to me, either in personal or in the music. I really needed a proper house mix for Busy Baby, and while I was thinking about which international artist I should pick, suddenly KANT posted one of his songs on Facebook, where we are ‘friends’. So I realized that I didn’t need to search the world, I could just look within my network. I think Kant did an world-class remix and besides it was a pleasure dealing with such a talented and easy producer…no managers or labels where needed this time – just a facebook-chat.”
