ALBUM ANNOUNCE // Cayucas Announce Sophomore Album ‘Dancing at the Blue Lagoon’ Out 6/23, Hear Track “Moony Eyed Walrus” Now

Its been a couple of years since weve heard new offerings from Cayucas and named them one of the best new bands of 2013 off the strength of their debut, Bigfoot. The indie pop duo of twin brothers Zach and Ben Yudin is back with Moony Eyed Walrus off their sophomore album, Dancing At The Blue Lagoon. The surf is gnarly on this song, with groovy guitar stabs, big drums, and sweeps crashing together to propel the track forward. –Stereogum

Today we are proud to announce Dancing at the Blue Lagoon, the sophomore album from Zach and Ben Yudin, the twin brothers compromising Los Angeles-based Cayucas. In line with their 2013 debut, Bigfoot, the new album has similar sun-drenched, jangly, California vibes, yet tells a more personal story as the band draws from the nostalgia of growing up in their hometown of Davis, California. Recorded with Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Foo Fighters, Ra Ra Riot) at Bear Creek in Washington State, Dancing at the Blue Lagoon will drop June 23 via Secretly Canadian and is available now for pre-order with an instant grat download of debut single “Moony Eyed Walrus”. Look for the band on their five-week North American tour this July. Album art, track listing and tour dates after the jump.

Listen to track “Moony Eyed Walrus” above or on our SoundCloud / YouTube pages.

Pre-order Dancing at the Blue Lagoon via SCD, Amazon, iTunes, or your local record store.

LOVE FOR BIGFOOT

This is a feel-good hug of an album, which will transport you to the care-free, peace and love West Coast in a matter of minutes. And it’s much cheaper than a flight. This is Fake DIY

Bigfoot is bittersweet; cheerful and charming in small doses, and – as that’s all you get – it’s time well spent. The Line Of Best Fit

Cayucas’ Bigfoot is a short and sweet instant charmer. The album’s eight songs each hover around the 3 and a half-minute mark, never overstaying their welcome. The sound is relentlessly warm and tropical, with rickety high-pitched keys, light and breezy percussion, and calm, echoed vocals.Pretty Much Amazing
