RELEASE // Tig Notaro Releases ‘LIVE’ Physically Today, Announces House Show Tour

Tig Notaro has had a pretty unusual year. On her second album for Secretly Canadian, LIVE, we hear Tig recorded live at her show at Largo in LA after going through an intense breakup, losing her mother to a sudden death, and battling an almost fatal case of pneumonia all in the same year. Then, just a few hours before her set at the Los Angeles comedy club, Tig was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Get Tig’s fantastic sophomore album, first time in physical release, from Secretly Canadian Distribution which includes a seventeen minute companion recording of her set “Live At The Moth” from The Avalon Hollywood on December 5th. Antony Collaborates With Charles Atlas on Music Documentary, TURNING, Premiere Set for November 11 at DOC NYC

Antony has paired with filmmaker Charles Atlas (The Legend of Leigh Bowery) on a new music documentary, TURNING. The US premiere takes place on November 11 as part of DOC NYC at New York City’s SVA Theatre. Following the premiere, TURNING will show at IFC Cinema starting November 16 through the 22, with a UK screening planned for November 25 – December 4. You can see all the dates at the end of the post.

TURNING features Antony and the Johnsons in a live concert performance centered around the celebration of 13 women and their stories. In addition to the live footage, the documentary includes intimate interviews with the women who took part in this extraordinary performance. Coupled with Antony’s emotional songs, these stories take the audience on a journey of struggle and hope. Watch the trailer above!

RICHARD SWIFT unveils Ground Trouble Jaw documentary series

On the heels of the latest Richard Swift release “Richard Swift As Onasis”, we are pleased to present Ground Trouble Jaw, an ongoing documentary series shot and edited by Swift. Through the series, the mad professor Swift takes you into his lab where you will behold tesla coils, unruly theremins, and the birth of the vicious tape reel monster! Lots of fun in an assuredly oddball fashion, the series provides a great insider’s perspective into the brain of Mr. R. Swift.

DANIELSON Documentary Trailer Online, Ships Sneak-Peek On Myspace

JL Aaronson’s much-anticipated Danielson documentary DANIELSON: A FAMILY MOVIE is set to premiere at the South by Southwest Music, Film and Interactive Conference and Festival (SXSW) in Austin this March. There is now a trailer available online. There will also be a sneak preview as part of the San Francisco Independent Film Festival on February 7, and the film will be screened as part of the New York Underground Film Festival.
Also, you can get a sneak preview to the upcoming Danielson full-length SHIPS, as “Did I Step On Your Trumpet?” is now streaming on Danielson’s Myspace Page.
