Set for release on May 14, Dungeonesse is comprised of ten bumping tracks, perfectly selected to give the listener just what they want (need); a surefire for getting your body up and moving. We’re envisioning late night/early morning, summer dance parties with this record on repeat. You can stream the latest single “Shucks”above or at Pitchfork! On it, Wasner’s Ciara-like breathy coo comes to the fore over Ehrens’ gigantic production – Top 40 with a connoisseur’s touch. You’ll remember that Dungeonesse is the newly minted pop project of Jenn Wasner (Wye Oak, Flock of Dimes) and Jon Ehrens (White Life). We shared the first taste back in November with the “Drive You Crazy” video.

Jenn Wasner and Jon Ehrens bring you their new pop project Dungeonesse and we could not be more stoked to announce them as our newest signee! You’ll recognize Jenn from Wye Oak and Flock of Dimes, Jon Ehrens from White Life and Art Department. Dungeonesse was forged out of a mutual admiration for Top 40 and R&B, as well as the mechanics of what makes a hit song. Jenn says of the project, “Something that Jon and I talk about a lot is the idea of reclaiming pop music; placing it squarely in the hands of, I dunno, say a couple of regular nerds from Baltimore.”
We have the perfect video for their debut single “Drive You Crazy.” Directed by Matthew Yake, the video was filmed at Baltimore’s Nudashank Gallery during a Dungeonesse dance party. Enjoy above or at The Fader. You can expect their debut full-length in 2013. Until then, pick up a copy of the “Drive You Crazy” b/w “Private Party” 12″ at SC Distribution.
