JENS LEKMAN In New Drew Barrymore Film

This past weekend saw the theatrical release of Whip It, the directorial debut from Drew Barrymore. The roller derby epic features an ensemble cast including Barrymore, Ellen Page (Juno), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), and, the taller of the two Wet Bandits, Daniel Stern (Breaking Away, Home Alone).

No less notably, the film also features three songs from Swedish crooner JENS LEKMAN. Over coffee in L.A., Drew convinced Jens to open his songbook and let her borrow a few tunes for the film: one from each of his three full-length releases on Secretly Canadian.

The Whip It soundtrack is out now, via Rhino Records, and includes Jens’ song “Your Arms Around Me” from his most recent release “Night Falls Over Kortedala.”
