Jens Lekman Announces New Album, “I Know What Love Isn’t”

Jens Lekman announces his first full length in five years! Titled I Know What Love Isn’t, it’s the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Night Falls Over Kortedala. The album is out on September 4.

The opening track sets the stage for what’s to come: a simple melody picked out on an echoey upright piano, like a disused one you might find in a schoolroom or church. The tune, “Every Little Hair Knows Your Name” is bittersweet but gentle, with a sustain that fades into the acoustic guitar and twinkling flourish of chimes on “Erica America,” the album’s first single – listen below.

MUSIC GO MUSIC Announce Full-Length Debut, Expressions

LA’s mysterious, cosmic disco group know as MUSIC GO MUSIC have readied a debut full-length, Expressions, due Oct. 6, in both vinyl and compact disc formats. Expressions collects Music Go Music’s previous, highly acclaimed 12″ releases all for the fantastical merriment of your mind and body. Read about how members Torg, Gala Bell and Kamar Maza created the pop revelation that is Expressions (complete with footnotes!) HERE.

Here is what music’s illuminati has said about the songs of Music Go Music:

“When people talk about the rebirth of disco, this is how it should be, manic zombifications reanimated from the Abba songbook, wired with Philip K Dick paranoia and Donna Summer euphoria.” — NME

“They begin with a bright-eyed Scandinavian sashay and end with a ten-minute Mediterranean disco romp featuring programmed drums, making detours along the way into rainy day ballads and guitar infernos. The cumulative effect plays like the greatest hits of dance saviors that never existed…and indeed, they probably should only be performed from inside an aquadome at the bottom of the Caspian Sea, or at least during a summer-long residency in Ibiza.” — Fader

“There is a late seventies, post-’I Feel Love’ disco feel to ‘Warm in the Shadows,’ and, whether or not it was their ambition to find that sound, it’s nonetheless a mightily refreshing dose of looseness and euphoria… One thing is for sure: the ambition for a long-lasting dynasty of overblown, slightly crackpot pop excess is there. ” – Stool Pigeon
