Damien Jurado‘s new album Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Son is out now worldwide. Jurado’s latest reunites him with friend and producer Richard Swift after previously working together on Damien’s last full length, Maraqopa in 2012. Also today, we share a new video for “Jericho Road” recorded at The Strongroom in London and directed by Phil Poole. Watch it above or here on our YouTube channel.

ALBUM STREAM // Luke Temple Releases New Video For “Florida” On MOKB, New Album ‘Good Mood Fool’ Streaming Now on HypeMachine



Today the new video for “Florida” premiered on My Old Kentucky Blog! The video, which was featured in VEVO‘s Indie Wednesday showcase, is directed by Kris Moyes who has worked with Grizzly Bear, Kirin J Callinan, Sia, and more. On the video, Temple has released the following artist statement:

“There have been 70,000+ deaths related to the Mexican drug cartels since 2006.

The Unites States is, by far, the largest market for cocaine use in the world with roughly 16% of its population using the drug.
New Zealand is second at roughly 4%
Mexico itself hovers around 2%.
They supply it, we buy it.

Being a musician I have been around my share of the stuff and can say that there is an absolute disconnect from the reality of what is being supported by the purchase of cocaine.

Our privilege and relative comfort can make it hard to look outside of our immediate gratification.

It seems almost impossible to exist without being an indirect aid to the exploitation of those less fortunate but we can at least start with the glaringly obvious.

It’s absolutely not worth just being able to party for another few hours.”

Luke Temple & Eliot Krimsky Cover Curtis Mayfield’s “Suffer”, Album Release Show at LPR October 14

Today we present a pretty sweet gift to Luke Temple and Curtis Mayfield fans alike. Listen to Luke Temple and Here We Go Magic bandmate, Eliot Krimsky (also of Glass Ghost) cover Curtis Mayfield‘s “Suffer” ABOVE or on YouTube HERE.

The cover, originally part of Temple’s live show, is an appropriate preview of Luke’s new solo album, Good Mood Fool out October 15th. The new album shows Temple at his most minimalistic utilizing only his voice, a drum machine, a bass guitar, and a Juno-1 synth to produce the soulful and sultry sounds of his fifth solo album.

On the song, Temple says, “It’s nice to remind – and in some cases introduce – an amazing song to people. Curtis makes your heart sing even if it’s a song about regret.”
