Steven A. Clark Shares “Can’t Have” Video, Announces Tour Dates With Sinkane

Steven A. Clark debuted his fantastic new single, “Cant Have,” as Zane Lowes World Record on Beats 1 only two weeks ago and is back today with a stunning new video for it. DIY Magazine describes the video as “a clip packing drama, love stories and enough emotion to set out Steven A. Clark as a true star.

Director Chris Black recalls, “I discovered Steven’s music about a year ago while driving home. A radio station in LA, KCRW, was playing ‘Just Ride.’ The sound of Steven’s voice and music was just so cool and smooth; I thought, this is who I want to work with! A year later, Secretly Canadian sent me the track and I flipped over how good it was; a proper track to introduce Steven to the world.

Listening to Steven’s music, and even when we were shooting with him, you can feel that he’s emotionally invested in his music which makes it easy when shooting videos. We felt we had a responsibility to create a video that does justice to the emotions and feelings that Steven is drawing from in ‘Can’t Have.‘ My DP, Dustin Lane, and I both agree that Steven is without a doubt, a star,” says Black.

This fall, Steven A. Clark will tour in support of his Secretly Canadian debut, The Lonely Roller (out September 18th), making a stop at CMJ and also opening for Sinkane. A full list of dates is below with more to be announced soon.

Antony and the Johnsons Debut New Video for “Cut The World”

Antony and the Johnsons share their brand new video for “Cut the World.” Premiering today on Pitchfork, it’s the previously unreleased title-track to the forthcoming live album. Directed by Nabil and shot in London, it’s a breathtaking piece of work with a statement. The cinematic short stars Willem Dafoe, who many of you will recognize from the Spider-Man triology and Carice Van Houten from “Game of Thrones” and Valkyrie. Performance artist Marina Ambramovic also appears in the video. Note – the short may not be suitable for all viewers. Watch above.

Antony originally wrote “Cut The World” for the opera The Life and Death of Marina Abramovic. A screening of the video will take place on August 11 at the Southbank Centre in London for the Antony-curated Meltdown Festival.

The new record comes out tomorrow, August 7. You can still pre-order Cut The World HERE.

Watch The War On Drugs on Pitchfork.tv

Pitchfork.tv caught The War On Drugs in New York earlier this year. Check out an absolutely transcending live performance of “Come to the City” off of this year’s Slave Ambient along with a great interview with the band, and intro from front man Adam Granduciel. The War On Drugs are on the home stretch of their current North American tour that’ll finish up with two shows: Dec. 12 in New York opening for The National at Beacon Theatre and a hometown show with fellow Phiadelphians Sun Airway at Union Transfer on Dec. 17. After the holidays you’ll be able to catch The War On Drugs in Europe in February and on tour with Sharon Van Etten starting in March. Check out the full tour dates HERE. Spin.com has a great retrospective of The War On Drugs’ touring exploits this year with photos taken by WOD bassist Dave Hartley who captures some brilliant moments.

Frank TV Captures Little Scream Live in Washington’s Wilderness

Local Seattle video producers Frank TV caught up with Little Scream while they were in town earlier this month. Above you can watch Little Scream perform “The Lamb” amidst the Washington state wilderness lit by just a scant string of lights and flashlights floating around. It’s a simple set up, but one that works to glorious effect. Little Scream has a few more live dates before years end. Catch em in Washington DC, Philly, and New York in the coming weeks. Full info on those dates HERE.
