Antony and the Johnsons Debut New Video for “Cut The World”

Antony and the Johnsons share their brand new video for “Cut the World.” Premiering today on Pitchfork, it’s the previously unreleased title-track to the forthcoming live album. Directed by Nabil and shot in London, it’s a breathtaking piece of work with a statement. The cinematic short stars Willem Dafoe, who many of you will recognize from the Spider-Man triology and Carice Van Houten from “Game of Thrones” and Valkyrie. Performance artist Marina Ambramovic also appears in the video. Note – the short may not be suitable for all viewers. Watch above.

Antony originally wrote “Cut The World” for the opera The Life and Death of Marina Abramovic. A screening of the video will take place on August 11 at the Southbank Centre in London for the Antony-curated Meltdown Festival.

The new record comes out tomorrow, August 7. You can still pre-order Cut The World HERE.

Watch The War On Drugs on Pitchfork.tv

Pitchfork.tv caught The War On Drugs in New York earlier this year. Check out an absolutely transcending live performance of “Come to the City” off of this year’s Slave Ambient along with a great interview with the band, and intro from front man Adam Granduciel. The War On Drugs are on the home stretch of their current North American tour that’ll finish up with two shows: Dec. 12 in New York opening for The National at Beacon Theatre and a hometown show with fellow Phiadelphians Sun Airway at Union Transfer on Dec. 17. After the holidays you’ll be able to catch The War On Drugs in Europe in February and on tour with Sharon Van Etten starting in March. Check out the full tour dates HERE. Spin.com has a great retrospective of The War On Drugs’ touring exploits this year with photos taken by WOD bassist Dave Hartley who captures some brilliant moments.

Frank TV Captures Little Scream Live in Washington’s Wilderness

Local Seattle video producers Frank TV caught up with Little Scream while they were in town earlier this month. Above you can watch Little Scream perform “The Lamb” amidst the Washington state wilderness lit by just a scant string of lights and flashlights floating around. It’s a simple set up, but one that works to glorious effect. Little Scream has a few more live dates before years end. Catch em in Washington DC, Philly, and New York in the coming weeks. Full info on those dates HERE.

New Video from Suuns for “Red Song”

Suuns “Red Song”

The last video you’ll ever watch? Suuns makes you wonder with their new Ringu-reminiscent take on “Red Song,” an eerie track off of their latest 12″ (out now on SC). Culled from old found tapes and edited together on an old VHS recorder the band bought for $4, the video features lead singer (and facial contortionist) Ben Shemie overlapped with distorted images. You can watch it now on Altered Zones. Or buy the 12″, which also features “Bambi,” right here.

Suuns are currently on tour in Europe through the beginning of December and will return to NYC to play a show with The Antlers at Webster Hall on December 10. You can see a full set of their dates here.

And if you see Ben, tell him if he keeps making that face it’ll get stuck that way.
