Toronto duo Electric Youth‘s SC debut album Innerworld is out now worldwide via Secretly Canadian and Last Gang Records. In celebration of the album release, VICE/Noisey has premiered the gorgeous new video for album track “Runaway”. Directed by Noel Paul and filmed on location in Beirut, Lebanon, the video focuses on a young couple navigating the challenges of life on the outskirts of the city. LISTEN // Anand Wilder And Maxwell Kardon Share “I’m To Blame”, New Album ‘Break Line The Musical’ Out July 14th Via Mute / 15th (US)




Premiering this morning on Consequence of Sound, Anand Wilder [Yeasayer] and Maxwell Kardon share the second track off new album Break Line The Musical, out July 15th in North America via Secretly Canadian / July 14th rest of world via Mute. Break Line The Musical is a new album that harkens back to rock concept albums of the early 70′s with this following the classic arc of lost love, betrayal, and pride.

This record has been in the works since 2008 when Anand and Maxwell put together a band with Ira Wolf Tuton (Yeasayer) on bass and Christopher Powell (Man Man) on drums. Britt Myers (Charlift, Yeasayer, Passing Strange) then assisted with recording while they stayed up late experimenting with sounds and arrangements. Also included on the notable roster is Austin Fisher (Suckers), Haley Dekle (Dirty Projectors), James Richardson (MGMT), Chris Keating (Yeasayer), Ryan Kattner (Man Man), and Aku Orraca-Tetteh (Dragons of Zynth).

ARTIST ANNOUNCE // Electric Youth Releases “Innocence” Video Dir. By Ivan Grbovic, Signs To Secretly Canadian

Secretly Canadian is thrilled to welcome Electric Youth to the family. Based out of Toronto, the electronic pop duo includes Austin Garrick and Bronwyn Griffin. Their song “A Real Hero” (a collaboration with French producer College) became wildly popular after its appearance in the 2011 film “Drive,” directed by Danish filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn. The song, which has surpassed 18 million plays on YouTube, is only a preview of what is to come.

In late 2013, Electric Youth teased a new album including the pulsing track “Innocence.” In the new video for the track directed by Ivan Grbovic we see the the music at its most grand and cinematic, but still very human. “Innocence” will be included on Electric Youth‘s debut album, due this fall. WATCH // Tomas Barfod Shares ‘Happy’ Video Via Noisey Premiere, ‘Pulsing’ EP Out Now

We’ve all danced alone at home to our favorite song. The only difference with the man in Tomas Barfod’s newest video for “Happy” is that his dancing is accompanied by a perfectly timed light show and I would say he is a much more talented dancer compared to my “get down” skills.
