Exitmusic on NPR’s All Songs Considered, On Tour with SVIIB

NPR Music’s Bob Boilen and Robin Hilton bring us a new episode of All Songs Considered, centered around beloved weirdos. The show features our own Exitmusic and their previously unreleased song, “The Night,” off the forthcoming album. Listen to the All Songs Considered.

In the midst of touring with School of Seven Bells, Exitmusic will soon join Sharon Van Etten for a handful of UK dates. The response to EM’s live show has been tremendous. Read what folks are saying below. See them live on tour – full list of dates HERE.

The Live Show

“The opening song gives that dynamic in spades, and much of the audience is struck dumb by what they’ve just heard…It’s so good, I want to charge the stage and hug them all.” Brightest Young Things

“This past weekend’s EXITMUSIC show was perfect for that dark setting at The Earl. The band’s introspective and often chilling music thrived in that atmosphere.”
The Blue Indian

“Aleska Palladino’s vocals rung with a raw intensity and the booming drums shook the entire room…Rather than trap me, however, the sound envelops my soul and I couldn’t help but find my entire body moving along.” Muzik Dizcovery

Exitmusic Featured on Bob Boilen’s SXSW Highlights, On Tour Now!

Exitmusic made their inaugural stop at Austin’s SXSW last week. Playing EIGHT shows, they were sure to grab attention of festival-goers while they were there. Bob Boilen, a name we all recognize from NPR’S All Song’s Considered, stopped by the DOC/JAG/SC showcase at Mohawk on Thursday night and EM, although playing in the dark, made their mark. In his SXSW Musical and Not So Musical Highlights, Boilen called Exitmusic a “perfect roar of sound steeped in Radiohead and Sigur Ros but full of talent in voice and texture. A real aural feast.Watch Boilen’s clip of EM performing “The Sea” above!

New York’s The Alternate Side got in on the SXSW action, asking EM to document their trip down South. Read it all from Aleksa’s viewpoint HERE. Photos too!

Aleksa and Devon also sat down with MTV2‘s Matt Pinfield in his 120 Mintues segment for a wee little chat about this and that. It’s video number 14 in the segment! Check it out HERE.

FINALLY, see Exitmusic live in concert!! Sharing dates with A Place to Bury Strangers, The Joy Formidable and School of Seven Bells, it’s likely they’ll be in a city near you! Check all the dates HERE!

Watch Exitmusic Perform “The Hours” Live for MTV Hive

Exitmusic stopped by MTV Hive recently to play “The Hours” for the First Take series. As expected, it’s another solid performance for the husband-and-wife led group. The song is interlaced with interview clips; Aleksa and Devon talk about meeting for the first time and where exactly their songs grow from. It’s a neat take you’ll definitely want to see.

The band hits the road in March for a serious slue of tour dates. Catch them live with The Joy Formidable, A Place to Bury Strangers and School of Seven Bells in a town near you! See full list of dates HERE.

Exitmusic Performs on KEXP’s Morning Show

Amidst their performances in 2011′s CMJ Music Marathon, Exitmusic met up with Seattle’s KEXP while they were stationed in NYC for festival coverage. What ensued during the live broadcast is a beautiful working of their debut ep, From Silence. Aleksa and gang don’t waste any time in filling the Cutting Room Studios with their haunting blend.

Don’t be bummed if you missed it; KEXP just released video of the entire session, as well as photos. See full coverage here. Exitmusic will play a sold out show at NYC’s Mercury Lounge later this winter with School of Seven Bells.
