The enigmatic video for “In Touch” features imagery shot during a trip to play a show in Lebanon and then digitally altered for the video. Despite the Arabic influence in the music, the video shoot was not planned for the trip but came out organically from the footage that they shot off-the-cuff whilst they were there.
“In a twist of good fortune, we all found ourselves in Beirut earlier this year. It seemed only natural for Charles-Andr to film his reflections, the bands, and the vibe of this rare set of circumstances” the band adds “with his discreet reel to reel projectors, we hardly noticed that a music video was in the works. Our memories of that time in Lebanon are a whirlwind of first impressions, late nights, good music, and good people. A barrage of colors and light, not unlike this video.”
For people that witnessed the Suuns live show last year for their Images Du Futur album, theyll tell you that theres no such thing as a typical Suuns show; but now with Jerusalem In My Hearts Radwan Mounmeh collaborating, its set to be even more spectacular. With shows across the continent, including a headline performance at East London venue Oslo and at ATPs Nightmare Before Christmas, expect to be completely blown away.
The self-titled release from Suuns and Jerusalem in my Heart has arrived. Born of a studio session in November 2012, these seven tracks combine the strengths of both bands, from “The Eastern modes and drones plus the Arabic vocal delivered by Moumneh [of Jerusalem In My Heart], and the keyboard arpeggios and incisive guitars of Suuns‘ Shemie and Joe Yarmush.” (Exclaim!).
“A unique, inspiring document, ‘Suuns And Jersualem In My Heart’ has the flexibility of a live performance with the exacting quality of a studio project.”

The new self-titled collaboration between Suuns and Jerusalem In My Heart is now streaming far and wide across the internet a week before its release on April 14 Secret City (Canada) and Secretly Canadian (Worldwide). Beginning in November 2012, Suuns [Ben Shemie, Liam O’Neill, Max Henry and Joseph Yarmush] and long time friend, Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, aka Jerusalem In My Heart, rented a studio in Montreal for seven days to record. The session turned into the amazing collection of tracks on the upcoming album Suuns and Jerusalem In My Heart, out April 14th via Secret City in Canada and Secretly Canadian worldwide. Today, we’re sharing the video for the first single off the record, “Gazelles In Flight”, premiering this morning via Noisey and available to watch above or here on YouTube.
Directed by Charles-Andre Coderre, the film is made from 16mm color film archives found in a Montreal garbage container. The original footage has been modified by various handmade film techniques. On the unique video, Suuns says:
“This is our second video shot on film, while Jerusalem in my Heart works exclusively with reel-to-reel analogue film projectors. Visual artist, Charles-Andre Coderre – and visual counterpart to JIMH – manipulated the film and put this video together for this first single. It made sense to keep the video in-house, just like the music, and maintain a link to our respective projects.”
