Suuns Release New Video (NSFW), Tour with The Black Angels and Crystal Castles

Today we unleash a new, stark, dangerous, evocative, and sexy video for Suuns “Pie IX,” directed by Frederique Berube. It’s further proof that Suuns know exactly what they’re up to. The video is not safe for work unless you work where we do, where nothing is NSFW. You can also listen to the mp3 for “Pie IX” right HERE.

Suuns tour Europe this month, and in March and April, in addition to playing South by Southwest, Suuns will join both Crystal Castles and The Black Angels respectively on tour. Each of these artists represent a side of Suuns’ sound: Crystal Castles, the cool electronic ferocity; The Black Angels, the swaggering psych-rock assault. Check out the full tour dates after the jump.

Richard Swift Remixes Generationals

7525_149047076742_548721742_3268086_7648901_n

Park The Van recording artists Generationals, just released a new EP featuring remixes of their song “When They Fight They Fight” by Ra Ra Riot, Little Ones, and Secretly Canadian’s own Richard Swift. Swift adds some big 80s synth to his remix as well as a fat ass bass line that is signature Swift. You can stream Swift’s remix and the rest of the EP right HERE. Btw, just in case you were wonderin’, Swift’s face remix above is a little gem from some hotel hilarity circa SXSW 2007.

We know you want to riiiide out: jj’s “CEO Birthday”

Every year I “celebrate” my birthday at SXSW.  By “celebrate” I mean wear earplugs, get older, eat tacos and yell “WHAT?” so many times that I lose my voice.  It’s awesome, you should go. This year was particularly special because I met and had hangs with the very mysterious Swedish duo jj.  They are funny and cool and think America looks just like it does in the movies.  We drove around Austin in a rental car listening to Akon, as you might expect.

On my birthday, I joked that I had “Birthday Sex” in my head, to which Elin Kastlander (pictured above) exclaimed, “We have a cover of that!” Joakim Benon put his coveted Dr. Dre headphones on my head (a Christmas gift from his girlfriend), and I was treated to a birthday serenade.  Their version is sexier, gentle, and piano-backed.

Today that song I was treated to is available for download.  Happy Birthday.
