Tig Notaro’s ‘LIVE’ Now Available at Amazon & iTunes, New Interview Up Today at The Fader

Originally available at Louis C.K.’s website, Tig Notaro’s new album, LIVE, is now up for purchasing on both Amazon and iTunes. LIVE features Tig’s legendary Largo set, performed earlier this past summer. Over 75,000 copies have already been sold. Don’t wait any longer to get yours. You’ll be happy to know part of the proceeds from each album sale goes to breast cancer research!

Tig recently moved to New York City from her home of Los Angeles. How’s she handling the move? Well for starters, she’s in the market for a new bunk bed to share with housemate Kyle Dunnigan. Find out what else she’s up to at The Fader – new interview shared today! Read it HERE. Tig, Dunnigan and David Huntsberger head to Brooklyn’s The Bell House on November 17 to perform PROFESSOR BLASTOFF live! Get your tickets.

“Rare is the piece of art (and even rarer the comedy album) that covers this much emotional ground, getting to the point that its sometimes unclear whether the tears are due to laughing so hard or just from the seemingly hopeless pain of it all. Besides being joyously engaging, Notaro’s resounding strength makes this album something that lifts the soul of the listener as much as it entertains.” – TIME

WATCH via The Fader // Jens Lekman Live at Grand Street Bakery

Jens Lekman recently spent some time in New York City, playing a show at Terminal 5 and stopping in at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for a performance. The Fader caught up with Jens at Grand Street Bakery for a wonderful two-song set! Watch “I Know What Love Isn’t” and “Some Dandruff on Your Shoulder” above. Both songs are off Jens’ new album, I Know What Love Isn’t.

Jens’ and Taken By Trees play Seattle’s Neptune tonight! See all their upcoming tour dates HERE.

WATCH // Exitmusic Premiere Video for “The Modern Age”

Premiering earlier today at The Fader, it’s the new Exitmusic video for “The Modern Age” off the recently released album, Passage. Directed by Daniel Ryan, the haunting video came out of a very real life experience both Aleksa and Devon share. Aleksa says, “Devon and I spent a few years volunteering at wild life rescue centers and, despite all the best efforts of very knowledgeable and compassionate staff members, sometimes an animal would just die from the shock of being captured. Their bodies would shut down because they knew they were not free. It has always stayed with us. That’s where we got the idea for the video.” Watch “The Modern Age” above.

Exitmusic will head out on tour this fall, playing shows across North America and eventually heading to Europe. You’ll find tour dates and ticket links HERE.

More Exitmusic fun –> In case you missed it before, NPR has shared Exitmusic’s live Alternate Side session in their Favorites section, calling Aleksa and Devon’s growing artistic identify “beautifully beguiling and darkly unsettling.” Watch HERE.

Lastly, Exitmusic share all the lyrics from their album Passage. If you’re curious, check them out HERE.

BLK JKS Featured in New Documentary from The Fader

Picture 88

The talented editorial staff at The Fader was down in South Africa during the beginning of the World Cup, and they’ve been working on a terrific film series called Pitch Perfect.  The 7th episode follows BLK JKS home to SA and includes footage of their EP release show at Bassline.  Mpumi Mcata’s speech about “MZABALAZO” and their performance at the World Cup is incredibly inspiring.

“The country wrote a song; the people wrote a song.”

Second, we have news about the EP release concert in Johannesburg!  It’s going to be on June 11th in downtown Joberg at The Bassline.  KCRW’s Garth Trinidad and The Fader will both be there to host the party.

If you are heading to South Africa for the fun, please take pictures and please send them to us!  If we don’t get a picture of Alicia Keys rubbing elbows with BLK JKS for our mantels, we’ll probably cry.  No one likes sad record label employees – just sad music.
