I think milk is completely disgusting. Yogurt is awesome and I can safely say a bulk of my grocery budget in the last month has gone to cheese, but I can’t do milk…unless it’s being used as a prop in a music video! Porcelain Raft’s Mauro Remiddi made this creepily awesome video for the band’s song “Put Me To Sleep,” in which he fidgets, rolls around and sings in a bathtub of milk.
Jens Lekman has released a brand new track from his forthcoming EP. It is the title track, An Argument With Myself and is available now on Pitchfork for streaming and download. You can also pre-order the EP right here. A limited edition of the pre-order will have clear vinyl (while supplies last). Jens says, “In the case ‘Jens Lekman vs. Jens Lekman,’ we will look closer at the evidence presented – the photo I had carried in my breastpocket for a whole year, the pressed honeysuckle, the wind so rich on summer and so sweet – how are these things connected and why are they relevant?” An Argument With Myself EP will be out on Secretly Canadian on September 19 in the UK, September 20 in the US (Service in Scandinavia).
Jens has also announced a series of European tour dates. Click through for details.
Nightlands’ Forget the Mantra started as a simple dream journal where Dave Hartley would record music ideas in the morning, upon waking. It has since blossomed from a mere catalog of thoughts and ideas, a bedroom project in the most literal of senses, into an album that masterfully conveys the feel of dream.
Today, Nightlands shares with us the vision of director Mark Shoneveld of YVYNYL using found footage from the 1970s that conveys a life of simple pleasures, pets, love, music-making, surfing, art, and friendship to create a new video for Nightlands’ “Suzerain (A Letter to the Judge).” We are also very excited to share the news that, in January, Nightlands will be performing live for the first time in select cities on the East Coast and the Midwest.
