We’ve all danced alone at home to our favorite song. The only difference with the man in Tomas Barfod’s newest video for “Happy” is that his dancing is accompanied by a perfectly timed light show and I would say he is a much more talented dancer compared to my “get down” skills. While you gather your surge protectors and the neighborhood kids to hit the “On/Off” switch at just the right time, take a look at a master at work by watching the new video for “Happy” directed by Jakob Marky above via Noisey‘s premiere or here on our YouTube channel.
The track is taken from Barfod’s recently released Pulsing EP which you can get on iTunes here.
Tomas has a few tour dates coming up including a show in London at Birthdays on May 8th.
If you missed it, Gardens & Villa‘s second album, Dunes came out a few weeks ago. The boys already graced us with a deadpan, VHS tinted video for “Bullet Train” via director Tony Katai, and today they share a new video for “Colony Glen”, the second song to get the video treatment from G&V’s newest album Dunes. This second 80’s inspired video is directed by Hans Lo who also created the band’s artwork for Dunes.
On tour now supporting the new release, the boys have just announced additional shows including their first 2014 European dates supporting Broken Bells in London, Paris, Brussels, Berlin, and Amsterdam. Click read more below to see all tour dates and ticket links.

Today we share Tomas Barfod‘s first music video for the track “Pulsing”. Directed by Cherise Payne (dir. videos for Sampha, Apache Beat), the video shows the intersection of teenage love and the local meat market over Barfod’s constantly building track featuring the vocals of collaborator Nina K.
On the video, director Cherise Payne says:
The first thing that struck me about Tomas’ track was that the melody and vocal were so beautiful but there was an underlying darkness in the bass and the beat. I wanted to explore this idea of beauty and darkness in the video by presenting a series of contrasts. The blood and gore of a meat market is contrasted with the passion and skill a butcher lends to their work, much like an artist working on a sculpture. The haze of a young couple exploring the city after a night out is contrasted with the the focus and bustle of a busy early morning market
