WATCH // Tomas Barfod Shares ‘Happy’ Video Via Noisey Premiere, ‘Pulsing’ EP Out Now

We’ve all danced alone at home to our favorite song. The only difference with the man in Tomas Barfod’s newest video for “Happy” is that his dancing is accompanied by a perfectly timed light show and I would say he is a much more talented dancer compared to my “get down” skills. While you gather your surge protectors and the neighborhood kids to hit the “On/Off” switch at just the right time, take a look at a master at work by watching the new video for “Happy” directed by Jakob Marky above via Noisey‘s premiere or here on our YouTube channel.

Happy features the vocals of Eddie Chacon. If you want to listen while you attempt to dance just like the man above you can hear it on our Soundcloud.

The track is taken from Barfod’s recently released Pulsing EP which you can get on iTunes here.

Tomas has a few tour dates coming up including a show in London at Birthdays on May 8th.

WATCH // Woman’s Hour Share “Her Ghost” Video, Single Out Now Digitally, New April EU Dates With Metronomy

Continuing previous Woman’s Hour visual collaborations with artists Broomberg and Chanarin (directed ‘To The End’ and ‘Darkest Place’), the new video for the band’s new single “Her Ghost” interprets lead singer Fiona Burgess’ lyrics into sign language filmed in one long, beautiful shot.

On the conception of the video Fiona says:

“After seeing two young people signing to each other in the street, I became interested in how deaf people communicate, particularly how they engage with music. Vilma, the deaf actor in our video, signs the song as a personal response to the lyrics, rather than a literal word-for-word translation. The process has enabled us to celebrate this form of engagement with music; language as a form of dance.”

Watch the new video above above or on YouTube/Vevo.

Last week, FADER premiered second track “I Need You” from the new single ‘Her Ghost’ by Woman’s Hour. If you missed it, listen to it on our Soundcloud here.

‘Her Ghost’ is now available digitally now on Secretly Canadian via iTunes, or pre-order the physical 7″ via Rough Tradeonly in the UK.

WATCH // Tomas Barfod Premieres New “Pulsing” Video, EP Out February 18th

Today we share Tomas Barfod‘s first music video for the track “Pulsing”. Directed by Cherise Payne (dir. videos for Sampha, Apache Beat), the video shows the intersection of teenage love and the local meat market over Barfod’s constantly building track featuring the vocals of collaborator Nina K.

On the video, director Cherise Payne says:

The first thing that struck me about Tomas’ track was that the melody and vocal were so beautiful but there was an underlying darkness in the bass and the beat. I wanted to explore this idea of beauty and darkness in the video by presenting a series of contrasts. The blood and gore of a meat market is contrasted with the passion and skill a butcher lends to their work, much like an artist working on a sculpture. The haze of a young couple exploring the city after a night out is contrasted with the the focus and bustle of a busy early morning market

Watch the video for “Pulsing” above or here on our YouTube.

If you missed it, we previously shared his track “Happy” featuring the vocals of Eddie Chacon (of Charles & Eddie). Listen to it above or on our Soundcloud / YouTube here.
