Jens Lekman / El Perro Del Mar

A split single featuring last year’s favorite Swedish son, Jens Lekman, and this year’s favorite Swedish daughter, El Perro Del Mar. On the A side we find Mr. Lekman in top form with “I Don’t Know If She’s Worth 900 Kronor”. A pop gem that sweetly tackles the age-old long-distance love conundrum. Though don’t be mistaken – this isn’t your typical embittered relationship song. Instead, Jens concludes “I’m not afraid to lend my heart out to a stranger in Barcelona” as whistles, snaps, a slew of do-do-do’s and his sweet sweet tenor dance as the needle spins. On the flip side we find El Perro Del Mar. The second child of Julee Cruise and Phil Spector, Perro offers up a harmony-drenched song that perfectly balances her release-mate’s offering. A moodier piece for sure, Miss Mar sings “I say that I will but I won’t, shake it off.” Fans of the Concretes will love this tune.
