The first glimpse into YEARNALISM came with the release of Rose’s first song earlier this year, “Friends Again” with Leon Thomas which revealed an extraordinary new universe at the core of the album. Both a commercial and critical triumph, the song quickly became her most successful release to date amassing over 14 millions total global streams to date. The track saw the duo unite once again following their joint Grammy wins for Leon’s MUTT album that won Best R&B Album and which featured their first scintillating collaboration on their track “ I USED TO”.
YEARNALISM ushers in a new chapter for Rose that carries through her singular sound with a newly found evolution from a renewed sense of self. With a tone that feels lived-in and timeless, Rose pulls from soul, gospel, jazz, rock and R&B, infused with the spirits of the greats that defined the Muscle Shoals era and pivotal female artists that changed the face of music such as Etta James, Nina Simone, Janis Joplin and more, while grounding her sound firmly in the present. Her music is intimate and cinematic, the kind that lingers long after the last note fades.
Additionally, Rose recently accompanied Giveon on his colossal European run, the Dear Beloved, The Tour, which wrapped last March seeing two of music’s captivating voices perform on the same run for the first time.
