Robby Hoffman Releases Wake Up Today! Pre-order Limited Edition Double Vinyl Now

Robby Hoffman, the writer, actor and comedian, signs to Secretly Canadian and releases her celebrated stand-up special Wake Up, available digitally today with an exclusive, limited edition run of signed vinyl available for pre-order now.

Recorded at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever and directed by John Mulaney, Wake Up premiered on Netflix last year to widespread acclaim, cementing Hoffman’s reputation as “one of the funniest people alive” according to GQ.  Now, for the first time, the special is available on all streaming services and will receive a vinyl release via Secretly Canadian, bringing Hoffman’s singular brand of stand-up to the format that has preserved comedy’s most enduring performances.

Robby Hoffman says of the release, “My mother’s main source of media is vinyl so we’re putting out a record so she can finally hear the special.”

Born in Brooklyn and raised in a large family before moving to Montreal, Robby has been described by The New York Times as a “bulldozing stand-up,” comparing her to Larry David, noting her “mountain-out-of-a-molehill kvetching, but her hilarious rage makes her sound like a modern lesbian Andrew ‘Dice’ Clay.” Hoffman starred opposite Michelle Williams in FX’s limited series Dying for Sex, appeared on HBO’s Hacks, where she earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, and holds a supporting role in the hit HBO series Rooster from Steve Carell and Bill Lawrence. Hoffman is also currently developing UnEntitled at HBO, a new series she is writing, executive producing, and set to star in.
