Five songs a piece from Intro to Airlift and June Panic, on this split cd released in concord with their joint summer tour of the East Coast in 1997.

Intro to Airlift were a three-piece outfit from Bloomington, Indiana. Much to the amusement of a handful of their die-hard fans, they were largely considered a mod band. The players came from some of the most important bands of Bloomington’s basement DIY scene of the early ’90s. Eli McCormick (guitar and vocals) played in the Yarnmarvins, Marty Sprowles (bass) came from Yellow Based Red, and Pete Schreiner (drums and vocals) was in the Special Guests and Sway Kiss. They toured the East Coast several times in their few years together, their last being in the summer of 1997. Marty and Pete moved on to play with the Panoply Academy. Their five songs for this EP were recorded in Texas at the Sweatbox during their 1996 winter tour. Included are three instrumentals and a cover of the Kinks’ “Who’ll Be Next In Line”. This is their fourth release, following two of their own 7″es and a split 7″. Their discography includes: Intro to Airlift 7″ (1996, Red Dawg Records) ”This And What Not” from KICK THE CAN compilation 7″ (1997, LiLieL Copgn Trust) The Music of Intro to Airlift 7″ (1997, In All Directions) Intro To Airlift / June Panic split CD (1997, Secretly Canadian) ”Harmonicae” from DEAR FRED compilation CD (1998, Sneezegaurd) Intro to Airlift Anthology CD (2000, Zero Ambition)

June Panic’s five songs came from all over the place. “Sexual Revolution” was a new song recorded especially for this album, while the other four were taken from various recordings. All were recorded on the 4-track by June, probably in either Grand Forks or Fargo, North Dakota.
