With the release of his highly anticipated new project “GLOW” just days away, multi-faceted artist and director Wesley Joseph returns with “SUGAR DIVE” feat. DEAN. This latest single follows the release of “HIATUS” – alongside its accompanying COLORS show – and previous tracks “MONSOON”, (masterfully produced in collaboration with A.K Paul) and “COLD SUMMER”, which also feature on “GLOW”.
“SUGAR DIVE” pairs ethereal Curtis Mayfield-esque soul with a garage beat and bathes it all in a haunting echo. South Korean alternative-R&B polymath DEAN (Anderson .Paak, Syd) provides a welcomed vocal contribution, with slinky beats and radiant chords flowing beneath Wesley Joseph and DEAN’s sonorous lyrics. Joseph’s delicate falsetto provides a refreshing variation to the expansive and soulful sound palette of “SUGAR DIVE”. The low-slung bass wanders rhythmically, a deep and earthy contrast to the snappy nature of the single’s percussive drums and light, airy atmosphere. The latest track arrives with an artfully directed music video by Wesley Joseph, with additional animation via Jack Zhang.
