Cherry Glazerr – Daddi
Today, Los Angeles’ Joey Dosik releases his debut album, Inside Voice. It’s soulful, silly, and sultry all at once. We’re so excited for you to hear it.
Dosik honed his craft as part of a burgeoning Los Angeles scene that reinvents classic popular music to thrive in the present tense. With Inside Voice, which features a number of Dosik’s closest collaborators – including Moses Sumney, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Mocky, Coco O, Theo Katzman, and others – Dosik delivers a level of depth rarely achieved in a debut, and the result is an instant classic by any standard.
Inside Voice is brimming with emotions that linger and hum. It’s catchy as hell and can haunt you for days. You can take a casual listen or spend hours on repeat. Either way, Inside Voice will get you, because Joey Dosik writes human music for human beings. And boy does he write the hell out of it. Throughout, Dosik does a remarkable job of honoring and evolving classic sounds, letting his uncanny gift for songwriting guide the way.
Inside Voice follows Dosik’s acclaimed debut EP, Game Winner, re-released by Secretly Canadian earlier this year. Dosik made his late-night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the day of the EP’s release performing “Running Away.”
Dosik will play select dates across North America this fall in support of Inside Voice.

Cherry Glazerr, the Los Angeles based trio led by 21-year-old frontwoman Clementine Creevy, announces their fourth album 'Stuffed & Ready,' due February 1st via Secretly Canadian. Alongside today's announcement, they share the lead single “Daddi", with an animated video that seeks to visualize the song’s searing attack against traditional gender roles.
Today, Goshen Electric Co., which features Strand of Oaks’ Tim Showalter at the helm of the Magnolia Electric Co. band, releases a 7-in. featuring re-workings of Jason Molina’s songwriting: “The Gray Tower” b/w “Ring the Bell.” The digital version also includes an extended, nine-minute version of “Ring the Bell.”
Earlier in 2018, Suuns released their fourth album, 'Felt,' a “joyous… build of brutalism and emotion,” according to NPR Music. The band has toured relentlessly throughout the year, and will be wrapping up 2018 with a European tour, which started just this week.
At the dawn of the 21st century, 'The Lioness' felt modern. The avant-garde tones and arrangements of Arab Strap are absorbed here into Molina's songwriting to create what would become, for many acolytes, the archetypal Songs: Ohia sound. 'Love & Work: The Lioness Sessions,' the box set reissue, is out Nov. 23rd.
