Today’s the day! Montreal duo She-Devils‘ self-titled debut LP is out in the world today. The music is built from original sonics inspired by everything from Iggy Pop to Madonna to T-Rex to Can, as well as the romantic longing of ’60s pop. The work is also inspired by the cinema and art of Gregg Araki, Yayoi Kusama, Andy Warhol, John Waters and Quentin Tarantino.
She-Devils is an album as visually immersive as it is sonically – the duo of Audrey Ann Boucher and Kyle Jukka use primitive electronic gear, hypnotic vocals, and “amusement park of sound” to construct a fun-house world of colorful, peculiar, arresting, and beautiful chaos. If you haven’t listened yet, dive on in – or check ’em out on one of their upcoming tour dates below.
