Cherry Glazerr – Daddi
Ahead of Steven A. Clark‘s forthcoming album, Where Neon Goes to Die, out next Friday, September 7th, Clark has released his newest single, “On and On.” The track premiered via HYPEBEAST this morning. Produced by Boys Noize “On and On” is another ’80s pop / R&B leaning composition flowing in the vein of Peter Gabriel meets Frank Ocean; a juxtaposition that feels new but familiar with Miami (Clark’s residence) as the backdrop.
In Clark’s own words: “‘On and On’ is about a my experience trying to force a relationship and change who I was to trying to be what someone else needed thinking they’d stick around. Then finally realizing that I was only making things worse and it was time time to let go.”
Where Neon Goes to Die explores a complex relationship full of highs and lows created by the temptations in a city that’s full of them. From sultry pop to heart-aching ballads, the album retells Clark’s travels through the city’s nocturnal fantasyland and hooky, R&B-infused synth pop-file.
You can see him play the album in its entirety the day before release (September 6th) at a hometown show at 1306 Miami, where exclusive collaborative merch bundles will available via Clark, as well as Miami-based skate brand amd store, ANDREW. only available at this show and you can also see him on a full national tour supporting Chromeo starting 9/10 (full dates below).

Cherry Glazerr, the Los Angeles based trio led by 21-year-old frontwoman Clementine Creevy, announces their fourth album 'Stuffed & Ready,' due February 1st via Secretly Canadian. Alongside today's announcement, they share the lead single “Daddi", with an animated video that seeks to visualize the song’s searing attack against traditional gender roles.
Today, Goshen Electric Co., which features Strand of Oaks’ Tim Showalter at the helm of the Magnolia Electric Co. band, releases a 7-in. featuring re-workings of Jason Molina’s songwriting: “The Gray Tower” b/w “Ring the Bell.” The digital version also includes an extended, nine-minute version of “Ring the Bell.”
Earlier in 2018, Suuns released their fourth album, 'Felt,' a “joyous… build of brutalism and emotion,” according to NPR Music. The band has toured relentlessly throughout the year, and will be wrapping up 2018 with a European tour, which started just this week.
At the dawn of the 21st century, 'The Lioness' felt modern. The avant-garde tones and arrangements of Arab Strap are absorbed here into Molina's songwriting to create what would become, for many acolytes, the archetypal Songs: Ohia sound. 'Love & Work: The Lioness Sessions,' the box set reissue, is out Nov. 23rd.
