Antony and the Johnsons to Perform at Lincoln Center on Saturday, October 30th
Posted: September 8th, 2010 by Lucy
Antony and the Johnsons will play their only North American live show of 2010 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall on Saturday, October 30.
They will be performing with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, which will be conducted by Rob Moose. Chiaki Nagano’s film “Mr. O’s Book of the Dead” starring Kazuo Ohno, the final film of an Ohno-starring trilogy, will be featured during the performance.
The performance kicks off Lincoln Center’s first annual White Light Festival. The festival is “focused on music’s transcendent capacity to illuminate our larger interior universe. In this inaugural season, we explore the spiritual dimension of music as manifested in different cultural and musical traditions.”
This will be a really special opportunity to see Antony and the Johnsons not only perform with a chamber orchestra but also see a performance alongside one of Kazuo Ohno’s rare films. There will also be a post-performance reception called the White Light Lounge for all ticketholders. Tickets will be available at the White Light website here.
