WATCH // Here We Go Magic Live at Off the Avenue, Put it All on the Line with a Game of Foosball

Here We Go Magic are in the midst of their European tour, finishing up an incredibly successful year in support of A Different Ship. Consequence of Sound share a bit of a gem; they recently got Here We Go Magic in the studio for one of their Off the Avenue sessions. Watch them perform “A Different Ship,” “I Believe in Action” and “Make Up Your Mind” above!

The fun does not stop there! The fine folks behind Les inRocks lured Luke and Pete into a fine game of foosball and then sat them down for a chat to learn exactly how these two became interested in music. The video ends with a live performance at Paris’s Divan Du Monde for the festival. Catch up with one-half of HWGM – watch the video HERE.

Here We Go Magic spend the remainder of this week at the best of the UK’s stadiums, playing in support of Elbow. You will find all their dates HERE.

WATCH // New Video for Here We Go Magic’s “Hard To Be Close”

Premiering today at Stereogum, the new Here We Go Magic video is the most recent work to come our way from long-time HWGM collaborators, filmmakers Nat Livingston Johnson & Gregory Mitnick of Peking. It’s for the single “Hard To Be Close,” off HWGM’s A Different Ship. Starring Chuck Stern of NYC Public Access show Roboshithead, the video follows three dudes (and their emotional rollercoaster) through a millenia of being stuck in an elevator. Enjoy above.

Here We Go Magic head back out on tour later this month with a free (with RSVP) show at Brooklyn Bowl. After a few dates on the East Coast, they’ll head to the Midwest for Midpoint Music Festival and to also tour with Andrew Bird. See all dates below.

WATCH: Here We Go Magic Perform for WNYE’s The Alternate Side, Plus Gorgeous Photos of the Band Live in Paris

Currently on a brief break from touring, Here We Go Magic made some time to stop in at WNYE for a live session on The Alternate Side. Luke, Michael and Pete are joined by new members of their touring band, Eliot Krimsky and Brian Bettancourt, for a four-song performance of tracks you’ll recognize from their latest release, A Different Ship. Watch “I Believe In Action” above and head to TAS for more videos and an interview with the band, which also airs this Friday, August 24 on 91.5 WNYE at 11 a.m. EDT.

It’s such a treat for a SC artist to play Paris, as we can always count on photographer Helene Peruzzaro to provide the best live photos. She caught Here We Go Magic at their Le Trabendo show earlier this year. You’ll find the gorgeous photos at Hartzine.

Here We Go Magic head back out on the road in September for US dates supporting Andrew Bird. They will then head back to Europe for shows throughout November. Dates and ticket links HERE.

Here We Go Magic Perform “Alone But Moving” at Resident Records

Bowlegs Music, who recently gave A Different Ship an 8.5, calling it“a superbly refreshing album – musically exciting and lyrically rich, it’s a brilliant exploration of self-perception and its occasional mismatch in time,” shares a wonderfully intimate video of Here We Go Magic at their Resident Records in-store. Perched on the checkout counter with guitars in hand, the gang perform “Alone But Moving,” off their newly released album, A Different Ship, which you can purchase HERE. It’s quite a special performance. Watch above.

Want more video of Here We Go Magic performing live? Of course you do! Watch them perform “How Do I Know” and “Make Up Your Mind” for Bandstand Busking!

Love for A Different Ship

“It’s really nice to hear an album that grows on you, and makes you want it to by the fact that you feel you haven’t got all it has to offer on your first go with it.” – Bark Music

“At times full of nervous vigour, at others letting itself fall blindly backwards into honeyed daydream, A Different Ship has a life and character all of its own.” – Drowned In Sound

“The track’s limitless replay value is indicative of the album as a whole, and with new details revealed with each subsequent listen A Different Ship is another exciting chapter in the story of a band who continue to improve with every release.” – The Quietus
