Suuns bring you their new video for the song “2020.” Directed by Sabrina Ratte, the video is a dazzling walk through Suuns live performance, shaken up with strobes and moving geometric shapes. What you see is really what you’re seeing – watch the video above or at Consequence of Sound, where it premiered this morning.
In addition to the new video, we are happy to share the pre-order for Suuns’ sophomore album, Images Du Futur. Out on March 5, the record is available at SC Distribution, Amazon and iTunes (comes with a free download of “2020″). When you order the deluxe bundle from SCD, you’ll receive Images Du Futur on CD and Lavender Smog colored vinyl (while supplies last), Zeroes QC vinyl, glossy poster featuring the cover art and a digital download of the new album (redeemable immediately upon purchase).
Dave Hartley, the man behind Nightlands and bassist for The War On Drugs, releases his sophomore album Oak Island. The record is a sci-fi exploration of love – a journey only available in an aural space. It is easy to fall in love with this album and after a listen or two, you’ll find it increasingly hard to go. A certain curiosity grows into everlasting fascination. Don’t believe me? Start with the new video and let us know how it goes (watch above).
“The pairing of these beautifully harmonized vocals with drum beats that go back and forth between a lazy laid back afternoon day and the busy decent into night life give Oak Island a sense of late 1970s summer touched with golden sunlight.” – The Vinyl District
“Oak Island is both an untamed beast and an inviting fantasy world worth inhabiting.” – eMusic
“So it goes on Oak Island, 35 minutes of romantic and robotic soft rock, a crush mixtape for the Uncanny Valley….it’s a fantastic accompaniment for winter: so much of the digitally processed and pitch-shifted guitar shimmers like tinsel, the percussion jingles, nylon strings, and dulcimers contribute to a mix that’s thick and boozy as eggnog.” – PITCHFORK
Dave Hartley of Nightlands brings you the second single off his sophomore release, Oak Island! Premiering yesterday, “I Fell In Love With A Feeling” goes right along with Dave’s sci-fi adventure. “I’m playing with aesthetics and looking for new modes of expression. So in that way my albums are at their core sci-fi novellas, broader-than-usual soundscapes coming from both sides of my brain.” Listen to the track above! Learn more about the album from Dave himself – interview up now at the Wired.
Don’t wait to secure your copy of the new album! Oak Island is now available for pre-order at SC Distribution. The pre-order features a deluxe bundle in which you receive Oak Island on CD or vinyl, a copy of “All The Way” b/w “Buggin’ Out” 7″, 11×17″ Nightlands poster and a digital download of the entire album.
