LOVE FOR BIGFOOT

This is a feel-good hug of an album, which will transport you to the care-free, peace and love West Coast in a matter of minutes. And it’s much cheaper than a flight. This is Fake DIY

Bigfoot is bittersweet; cheerful and charming in small doses, and – as that’s all you get – it’s time well spent. The Line Of Best Fit

Cayucas’ Bigfoot is a short and sweet instant charmer. The album’s eight songs each hover around the 3 and a half-minute mark, never overstaying their welcome. The sound is relentlessly warm and tropical, with rickety high-pitched keys, light and breezy percussion, and calm, echoed vocals.Pretty Much Amazing

LSTN: Yeasayer’s ‘Fragrant World’ on NPR’s First Listen, Plus New Remix of Gotye’s “Eyes Wide Open” at Rolling Stone

Two weeks ago, Yeasayer sent fans in a frenzy with their album scavenger hunt. Unleashing videos on various sites throughout the day, fans could listen to Fragrant World only by locating each vignette. For all those who missed out on the new album during the hunt, here’s your second chance. It’s streaming throughout the week at NPR’s First Listen. Out August 21, Fragrant World is available to pre-order at SC Distribution.

Currently on the US leg of their tour, Yeasayer will soon travel to Europe for a string of shows. Dates include FYF Festival and yes, it’s true – Yeasayer is in fact playing the Coachella Cruise alongside Father John Misty, Hot Chip, Warpaint and more. See all tour dates HERE.

Yeasayer rework Gotye’s “Eyes Wide Open” for his upcoming remix EP. Listen exclusively at Rolling Stone.

“…it can be hard to tell where organic sounds end and electronic wizardry begins – a fitting mystery for a band so preoccupied with humanity’s ever-shifting place in the modern world. From the opening seconds of “Fingers Never Bleed” on, its worldview is fully realized, as a stormily off-kilter arrangement induces an immediate sense of woozy foreboding. Even singer Chris Keating doesn’t quite sound of this world: He might channel David Byrne here and there, but he elsewhere explores a mode of expression that can seem animalistic, even alien.”Stephen Thompson, NPR

Exitmusic’s “Passage” Streaming in Full on NPR’s First Listen

Exitmusic’s Passage is set for release on Tuesday, May 22nd, but you can stream the album in its entirety now at NPR’s “First Listen.” During this year’s SXSW, Robin Hilton took notice of the husband-and-wife duo, who recently expanded their live lineup to include Nicholas Shelestak and Dru Prentiss. A champion for the group since, Hilton writes,“Simple, spare beats hold chaotic soundscapes together while delicate melodies tell troubled tales. The songs are gorgeous and gruesome, soaring and sad, glittering dreams and haunting nightmares…But even (or perhaps especially) in its bleakest moments, Passage is one the most memorable and absorbing records you’ll hear in 2012.

STREAM PASSAGE NOW.

The album is available for pre-order; find your copy HERE. You can also purchase “The Night,” off the forthcoming album, at iTunes.
